Jeff has been working in the insurance industry since 1990, when his father, Larry McFarland, asked him to join his rapidly growing Farmers Insurance agency. Over the next ten years, they grew the business by almost seven hundred percent. While successful sales figures are certainly alluring, Jeff finds that being in a position to really help people when they are in need is an even more rewarding aspect of the job. When clients experience physical or financial loss to themselves or their property, they are almost certainly at a point of personal crisis in their lives. At the time of Jeff’s entry into the insurance field, he had several years of college training in psychology, with an emphasis in Humanistic Psychology, which perfectly positions him to provide comfort and support for clients who may be experiencing difficulty and loss, in the course of a claim related event.
Jeff’s father, Larry McFarland, and uncle, Duane McFarland, formed a successful boat insurance agency, Leisurecraft Insurance, with their wives, Margie and Elaine, when Jeff was nine years old, in 1973. Jeff, and his sister, Marcene, quite literally, grew up surrounded by the insurance industry, often having summer jobs as clerks at their parents’ business. Over the years working together, Larry instilled in Jeff the values of being an honest, responsible representative for one’s clients and an understanding of the abilities and obligations that an effective insurance agent is tasked with.
In 2017, Jeff began working at Yorba Linda Insurance Services with his longtime friend, Guy Borak. Jeff is thrilled with his prospects for the future and is grateful to be in the company of such a productive and enjoyable workplace and simpatico crew!
